Tobin Freid – Treasurer 

Tobin is a passionate environmental professional with strong project development, policy analysis, and partnership building experience related to energy, climate, and sustainable communities. She has earned a Master of Arts degree from the Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences, a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She’s worked as a program analyst for the US Department of Energy, a project coordinator for the Triangle J Council of Governments, and is currently the Sustainability Manager for Durham County and the City of Durham. In the late 90’s, she conducted outreach and education activities in Panama with agricultural extension personnel to assist organic cocoa producers with ecosystem conservation methods. Tobin brings highly developed skills in grant writing and management, strategic planning, and community organizing to The People’s Seed.
